| What We Believe |
|
Some of what we believe to be very important... GOD: The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He is the creator and ruler of the universe. God is love and desire that all men be savd. God is also perfectly holy and cannot have fellowship with sin (Genesis 1:1, 1 Timothy 2:4, Habakkuk 1:13). JESUS: The Son of God. He came in a human body, lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sins and was raised from the dead. (John 1:1, 1:14, 3:16, 14:6). THE BIBLE: Is the word of God, how God speaks to us today, and is our rule in all things. (2 Timothy 3:16-17) THE GREATEST COMMANDMENTS: "Love God with all your heart and love your neightbor as yourselves" (Matthew 22:37). BAPTISM: Immersion in water. The Bible commands baptism along with belief and repentance as conditions of salvation. Our obedience shows our faith in God. (Mark 16:16, Acts 2:38). THE LORD'S SUPPER: A simple memorial feast we observe each Sunday to remind us of the death of Jesus on the cross. (1 Corinthians 11:23-29, Acts 20:7). CHURCH ORGANIZATION: We are a simple, independent group of Christiains. The Bible is our authority in all things. Elders oversee the work of the church, functioning as shepherds to the flock of God and are assisted by deacons. (1 Timothy 3:1-7, Acts 20:28-29). |
